Woodhall Spa Parish Council has produced a Snow & Ice Plan (SIP). The aim of the plan is to enhance safe pedestrian access to the schools, doctors surgeries and shops during severe winter weather.
The plans is dependent on members of the community clearing snow from their section of pavement and helping those who cannot help themselves. Volunteers, working on behalf of the Parish Council, will grit main pavements in the village as soon as practicable after snowfall unless an immediate thaw is forecast. Additionally, main footways will be gritted if freezing rain is forecast. If you feel able to do more than clearing your own stretch of pavement please contact the Parish Clerk.
Please note that it is perfectly OK to clear snow from pavements as long as due care is taken not to leave piles that may present a trip hazard or use a method of clearance which may create a further hazard. The Grit bins situated in the following locations are the responsibility of Woodhall Spa Parish Council, and the grit contained in these bins is for use in public areas and should not be taken for use on private property:
The Broadway Car Park
Tor-o-Moor Road / Stanhope Road junction
The Parish Council supplies of rock salt are limited by the cost and we cannot afford to purchase additional stocks to continually re-fill grit bins, however if you notice that one of the bins is empty then please contact the Parish Clerk on 01526 352461 or e-mail email@example.com who will organise for it to be re-filled.
The other grit bins located in the village are the responsibility of Lincolnshire County Council – 01522 782070.
